Pediatric Dentistry in Anderson, SC
Because of Dr. Carter’s experience with children’s dentistry, you don’t need to take your kids all over town to get the care they need. We would love to welcome them to Hopewell Family Dentistry.
Our Office Is Kid Ready!
No matter what age your child is, they will appreciate their dedicated reception room. We have decked it out with fun kid colors and games. Between a television in the ceiling, and our friendly team we will make your child feel like our special guest.
Because we make it fun, we find that children actually look forward to their dental appointments. This sets them up for years of healthy smiles.
Your Child’s First Visit in Anderson, SC
They grow up so fast!
We follow the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommendation of planning your child’s first trip to the dentist to happen around their first birthday. It seems early, but this visit gives us the opportunity to make sure their development is on track. During this visit, we'll also take time to chat with you, the parent, about what to expect over the coming months and how to take care of your baby’s teeth.
At this appointment, we will start to familiarize your child with the dental office and check their teeth to make sure everything looks healthy. We'll also answer your questions, demonstrate proper home care, and discuss things like a healthy diet and how to break the habits that might put their smiles at risk.
As Your Child Grows
It is important to remember that we will move at your child’s pace. As we get to know your little one and their oral health needs, we will implement additional preventive measures to protect their precious smile. Some of these may include:
- Professional dental cleanings for children
- Dental exam
- X-rays
- Fluoride treatments
- Dental sealants
- Athletic mouthguards for sports
Primary teeth (baby teeth) are important because they provide the blueprint for your child’s permanent teeth. We do everything we can to protect them.
Restorative Dentistry for Children
Chances are that your child will need a restoration at some point during their growing years. For some kids, it may be a filling to repair a cavity. For others, we might need to repair a tooth that sustained damage while having fun. We always make sure your little one is comfortable for treatment by gently numbing their tooth, distracting them with their favorite show on the Disney Channel or Nick TV, and explaining things to them in terms they understand while avoiding any scary words that may put them on edge.
We provide high-quality restorations we would want for our own kids. Dr. Carter is excellent with every child, from your toddler to your teen, and we look forward to welcoming your littlest family members to our office!
We look forward to hearing from you!
